Best Way To Sell A Used Car
I’m going to list the best ways to sell a used car here. Some of these car selling tips might work well for you and some might not work for you at all depending on where you live, your living situation and/or where you work. The point is that if you want to sell a used car fast, and for as much as possible, then you should probably implement as many of these car selling methods as you can. Obviously some cars will almost sell themselves, like fuel efficient cars during a gas crunch, etc. but if your car is a gas hog, and gas prices are going through the roof, then it makes it even more necessary that you try to sell your car using as many of these methods as possible.
- Place Free Classified Ads: You can post free ads in online publications like Craigslist.org, Kijiji.com and Backpage.com. Craigslist probably gets the most traffic but the other two can be effective also. Submit your ad online and its up live within minutes. All three of them allow you to ad photographs of your car too. They also allow you to edit your own ads with corrections being visible within moments.
- For Sale Signs: Put ‘For Sale’ signs on your car so potential buyers can see it wherever it is parked or while you are driving. Try to make the phone numbers large so people can call you from their cell phones while driving.
- Park The Car On The Street: A best way to sell a used car also includes parking it at the side of a street that gets lots of two way traffic. Put BIG brightly colored ‘For Sale’ signs on all four sides of your car.
- Place Paid-For Ads: For a fee, you can place ‘Used Car For Sale’ ads in publications like Autotrader.com and The Big Lot. The Big Lot is the only paid-for online publication that even has a money back guarantee.
- Tell Friends, Family, Co-workers & Neighbors: You might be quite surprised to find out that a family member, friend or even your next door neighbor might be very interested in buying your old car. So be sure to do a little networking by blabbing to everyone that your car is for sale.
We’ve discussed several ways that are the best way to sell a used car here but nothing kills a ‘Car For Sale’ ad more than NOT putting the price of your vehicle in your ad or on your ‘For Sale’ signs. Seriously, there is nothing more annoying than seeing a car for sale without a price. Also, I suspect that most people don’t call ads that don’t have a price in them.
