Hi Scotty I have a ford 2002 escape I only get 300 km out? of a full tank what do u think that could be thanks

  3. scottykilmer says:

@tapamaran78 tons of stuff, but try cleaning the maf sensor and check for fuel leaks from the tank to the injectors. ?

  4. TeamBadGuys says:

CAREFUL so you don’t mess with the airbag circuitry while you’re in there. You don’t want the airbag to malfunction in? a crash, or even worse, come crashing in your face during the repair.

@TeamBadGuys been their done that gone off in face while doing that ?

    Mr. Scotty,
If my steering wheel is locked? and the ignition won’t start, could this be a possible solution? My whole family and I have tried the whole jiggle the wheel and ignition but it’s not working AT ALL! I’ve also tried WD40, pressing the brakes which are stiff, putting it in neutral and jacking it up. Nothing is working.

Could you change the title to “Ignition lock cylinder”? People search “ignition switch” to view an ignition switch, not an ignition lock cylinder. There is a difference.? Thank you. (Mechanic. 35yrs.)

hi Scotty, love the videos. i got a 93 mazda b2200 the tublers is busted and allows? the key to come out all the time and doesnt click at any point, the key when pressed in in accesories pushes in, but there is no hole to poke a paperclip or stick in anywhere, i think i have to take the whole things off steering colom and have everything removed so far but can figure out how to remove the key switch part and have considered just reqiring the truck aside from needing the key to work it instead.thx

  9. scottykilmer says:

@JamesofJesus get? thee to a locksmith, they can do miracles with their tools. Even I use them in a pinch. they should be able to remove it.

how do u fix a? 2001 chevy camaro security light that flashes

  11. scottykilmer says:

@Tenkolazy you find someone with a dealer level scan tool and knowledge how to? use it,the only way you can work on those crappy GM systems.

in still having that issue? with the 1992 subaru loyale would the ignition have anything to do with the cel not coming on when i first turn my key ? after 5-10 minutes of sitting on the on position the cel comes on and will start every time

  13. scottykilmer says:

@crammage you could try a new? ignition swtich and pray it’s that simple. Cause if not, often a bad main computer

  14. crammage says:

    @scottykilmer hmm thanks
i hope its not the computer , thank? fully these old subarus arent to hard to come by luckily

@imhis00 By any chance is your key worn out? On a truck at my job one day it wouldn’t start, after screwing with? it for a half hour we got it started and left it running. Guy I work with looked at it when we got it back to the shop and it couldn’t figure it out. Next day he grabs a spare key and the truck fired right up no problem, so he looks at the key we were using and notices the cuts in the key are worn, so try a spare key if you have one if your lucky its just a worn key.

  16. bandittweintraub says:

okay, now I have a couple of questions.. what about a ignition switch that refuses? to budge (into Acc) on a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix with auto transmission? and a low fuel light that stays on constantly. (even when the tank is full)

  17. scottykilmer says:

@bandittweintraub? new sending unit in the gas tank would fix the light, but it you can’t get it into ACC, you need a new key and lock assembly, they go out all the time.

  18. petepi1981 says:

@scottykilmer can a faulty ignition switch? cause a/c blower and radio not to work when car is running everything is ok when its in on position but when i start it up these along with the pwr windows do not work, also this usually happens when it rains im stomped i have a 02 grand caravan

  19. scottykilmer says:

    @petepi1981 It sure? can.

  20. OutragousGaming says:

i got a problem with my 96 mazda protege. the key is stuck in the ingition and wont turn back to the lock position (0) but it will go in Acc (2) on (3) and start (4) so i? am forced to leave it in Acc which drains my battery even when i have everything shut off. any help?

  21. scottykilmer says:

@OutragousGaming answer: You need a new key lock assembly,? it’s broken.

  22. OutragousGaming says:

@scottykilmer what do you? estimate that will cost?

  23. scottykilmer says:

@OutragousGaming if you do it yourself, just the cost of parts. If? not, call around, prices vary

  24. OutragousGaming says:

@scottykilmer? okay thanks, you were very helpful.

  25. OutragousGaming says:

@scottykilmer are you sure i would need to buy the whole assembly and not just the cylinder? because the whole assembly is? quite expensive.
