@scottykilmer thanks for responding, i use nitrile? gloves but yours seem thicker
@scottykilmer I have a 95 Contour and have tried to lube the rear doors. when? I close them they make a bad popping sound. wd40 and other spray lubes don’t seem to work. what do you recommend that will stay and work?
@genec2007? Use spray lithium grease, all auto parts stores sell them. Scotty
@TomsLastJoint you need a new power window? regulator assembly. Scotty
How do I remove the door panel off? a 2001 silverado 2500 and replace the window motor?
@roadbilly same process, then just unbolt the window regulator assembly AFTER unbolting the glass from? the regulator. Scotty
@scottykilmer my? 1994 Lincoln doesn’t have any visible screws?.
@xspartanX3x there are some hiding behind plastic? pieces that snap off to reveal the screws. The rest are snaps that just snap out when you pry the panel. Scotty
Thanks for the useful? videos scotty! Very educational. How about one on brake pads? My car has 4 wheel disc brakes.
@sonicthehedgehogca I have two already on brake jobs, go to the scottykilmer channel on youtube, and on the main page, type in the? search engine there “changing brake pads on your car” and you will get to those videos. Scotty
Might want to be a bit more gentle on those plastic pieces as you put them back on. They can break easily it they are not seated correctly before you whack it. Then you’ll be paying? to replace more stuff than originally intended! – anyways, great stuff as always.
Thanks, it was really useful!! My? car can’t be opened from the outside, I really have an emergency!!! My car is an Atlanta Derby 1995, are there any tips you can give to remove this car’s front door panels and solve the problem?
@pianistaclasico good luck on that, you have to cut small holes? in the panels to access the latch and open it mechanically from the inside if you can’t get the door open. Scotty
hey scott, what if my board panel has broken, and i want to make a new one, how? where i can get? the board.
@theviruskiller91 they sell panels at dealers for a small fortune, or go? to a junkyard for a used one. You could try backing it with thin particle board from a lumber yard if you’re adventurous. Scotty
@scottykilmer thanks? scotty!
Hi Scotty. Could you do another? video for car doors with power windows and locks?
@romainechester next time I fix a window I will.? Scotty
@scottykilmer Thanks!? I’m the type who likes to tinker and try taking things apart. I’ve managed to bust up a cellphone and a laptop.
But now I’m cautious and rather watch someone do it first and then try myself.
Also really admire that you take the time to reply to comments here. More power to you.
scotty what do you suggest for 1996 caprice, their door cards are so cheap and the snap breaks easily when you take them out or? when you install them,i got a lot of these plastic snaps broken, and i yearly change the door handles front, the sun here cracks everything
@lowlow643 Yea, cheap American crap, that does happen to it. then you just get new snaps and live with cracks, no way out of that. I’ve got thirty year old toyotas that you can still take the doors apart without cracking (not that they break, but I do? change radio speakers now and then.) Scotty
Thanks Scotty! I have a bit of a problem though, I have a 96 camry and my door panels don’t have the small bolt that goes in the door handle, and after I remove every other bolt that holds down the panel its still really stuck from the door handle area, as if there were a bolt that you have to take off from inside the panel. How do I remove? the door handle assembly?
@dezertboy20 that’s the pain in the ass part.? You have to snap it off backwards, and often that plastic crap will break doing that. But that’s the only way to get it off. Scotty
If only BMW panels were this? rugged and simple.
