Sell Car and How To Know If Buyer Is Real?

When you sell car, there is nothing more frustrating than having “potential buyers” call about your ad and then never show up after you’ve been waiting around for them! So you really need to know if the buyer is going to show up to see your car, or will they be a time-waster. I’m going to reveal what questions to ask them over the phone so you will know if they are for real.

Am I being nit-picky here? Am I being overly particular about one minor detail involved in sell a car? Well maybe I am but all I know is that if you ask these few questions below, it can make all the difference between selling a car fast and going on with your life, or blowing your weekend waiting around for flakes that will never show up.

1) Take-Away-Close: When a potential buyer calls and you are winding down the phone conversation and description of  the vehicle you are selling, the way to weed out the flakes when they ask for your address so you’re not waiting around for them is to ask this: “Okay, why don’t you just think about it and call me back when if decide you want to see my car.” In sales I believe it is called the “take-away-close” and if they speak up immediately and say they want to see your car then odds are that they are seriously interested and will show up when they say they will.

2) Ask BUYER For Directions To YOUR House: Huh?! Thats right. The next thing is to give them detailed directions to your house. When you’re done giving those directions, ask them to repeat them back to you “just to make sure you’ve got it right.”  This is key! If they can repeat back the directions to your house (or wherever your vehicle is being shown), then that also means they are probably serious about showing up. Also tell your used car buyer to call you when they are leaving to come over AND to call you if something comes up and they are going to be late or can’t make it over.

I realize those seems like incredibly simple things, and they are, but they are also extremely powerful qualifiers because you would be surprised at how many people will tell you they are interested in your car and will tell you they want to check it out only to never hear from them again. They tell you those things because they don’t want to offend you by just being honest and saying something like: “No thanks. I’m not interested in your car.”

Ask those questions when you sell car you can pretty much guarantee that you won’t ever wait around for a someone that has no intention of ever coming over to look at your car for sale.
